Many years ago, my sister gave me one of the best presents ever: her easy recipe for turkey chili! This chili recipe is now a staple meal in our home. With a family of 7, it can get tricky sometimes to figure out what we will be having for dinner. This is an easy one-pan and crockpot recipe. I can start it right before the kids come home from school, put it in the crockpot, and come to a yummy dinner after sports practice! Its simplicity but tastefulness is why I love making this dinner recipe! The kids absolutely love it and are always sure to finish their dinner (plus leftovers!!!) when I make it! Here is all you need to make it:
Ingredients
- 2 lbs of Ground Turkey or meat of your choice
- Black Pepper, Chili Powder, and Salt
- 1 Bell Pepper
- 1/2 Diced Onion
- 1/2 Cup of Chicken Broth
- 2 Cans of Diced Tomatoes with Green Chilies
- 3 Cans of Tomato Sauce
- 1 Can of Beans
- 2 Celery Stalks
- 1/2 Bag of Corn (optional)
- Rice (optional for serving)
- Sour cream (for toppings)
- Shredded cheese (for toppings)
Instructions
Step 1: Heat up your skillet and toss in the ground meat, bell pepper, and onions. Season with black pepper, chili powder, and salt to taste!
Step 2: Now, it’s crockpot time! Transfer the meat mixture into the slow cooker, along with all the other ingredients, and give it a good stir.
Step 3: Set your crockpot to high and let the chili simmer on high for 4 hours.
Step 4: Finally, serve the chili over rice. Don’t forget to top with sour cream and a sprinkle of shredded cheese. Enjoy!
