Maximizing Space: The Guide to Carry-On Packing

Packing for a trip can be both exciting and daunting, especially when it comes to maximizing space in your carry-on packing. Whether you’re a frequent traveler or preparing for a weekend getaway, the key to stress-free travel lies in efficient packing. I’ve provided some expert tips to help you maximize space, stay organized, and breeze through security with ease (from someone with five kids and a husband).

Buy The Right Bag

Prior to my most recent trip, I had tried several bags that weren’t spacious or comfortable. My Nordace Siena – Smart Backpack has been my favorite so far for traveling because of its various compartments and the supportive, wide straps! Finding a bag that is not only comfortable after a long day of travel but also has a place for everything is difficult. I love my Nordace babckpack and you can use my code: TARYNNEWTON for 20% off your purchase.

The Essentials

Travel days can be stressful, and there are some items I simply cannot travel without. I bought this organizer to store my juice pack (portable charger), cords, and all other electronics. My other carry-on essentials are my laptop, blanket, neck pillow, and this toiletry bag. In it, I store my Wipe That Tush Wipes, a compact floss dispenser, deodorant wipes, and other toiletries I may need in the airport.

Buy the Packing Cubes

This is by far the most important step in packing your carry-on. I use these packing cubes every time I travel, whether it’s just Rick and me or the entire family. Having them is especially useful for saving space if you are not taking any checked bags and only using your carry-on for your trip. Use different cubes for different categories, such as one for clothes, one for shoes, and another for accessories.

Packing your carry-on for a trip is about finding the right balance between efficiency and convenience. Every time I travel, I focus on these tips to streamline my packing process, minimize stress, and make the most of my travel experience. Whether you’re jetting off for a business trip or a tropical vacation, a well-packed carry-on can be your ticket to a smoother and more enjoyable journey.
