Some days, I just need a quick and easy dinner that I can make in one pan, and this recipe is perfect for that! One-pan recipes make cleanup faster and easier, which I especially love after a busy day. I recently found this 5-in-1 electric skillet, and it’s been a game-changer. It sautés, steams, simmers, slow cooks, and even works as a buffet server! Tonight, I’m making my Cajun shrimp and sausage pasta. It’s one of Rick’s favorite pasta dishes, and the kids love it too! Here’s how I make it!

Ingredients

1 box pasta
1 tbsp olive oil
1 lb shrimp
2 sausage links, sliced
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1/2 onion, chopped
1 tbsp garlic, chopped
3 tbsp Creole seasoning
2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 1/2 cup chicken broth
1 cup half and half
1/4 cup grated Parmesan
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Step 1: First, slice up the sausage links and chop the red bell pepper and onion. Set them aside for now.

Step 2: Next, throw the shrimp into your electric skillet or a deep pan and cook over medium heat for about 3–4 minutes. Sprinkle on some Cajun seasoning and a pinch of salt. When they’re done, take them out and set them aside.

Step 3: While that’s cooking, bring some water to a boil, add a splash of olive oil, and cook the pasta until it’s al dente. Drain it and set it aside.

Step 4: In the same skillet, add the sausage, bell pepper, and onion. Let them cook for about 2–3 minutes until they’re slightly crispy.

Step 5: Now, pour in the chicken stock, half and half, and tomato paste. Give it a good stir to combine everything.

Step 6: Add the shrimp and pasta back into the skillet, along with the Parmesan. Stir it all together and cook until the cheese is nice and melted.

Step 7: Finally, top it off with some extra grated Parmesan. Serve it up, and enjoy
