One of the best hacks I have for organizing any home project is to add organizers, especially budget-friendly ones. After years of organizing various home spaces like spice drawers, my fridge, and linen closets, I’ve found that adding bins or acrylic dividers is key to getting these spaces in order. They maximize the efficiency of any space, which is exactly what I needed for Rick’s and my closet.
Organizing our closet was at the top of my home projects list, but I had been putting it off for some time. I finally decided the time had come to truly get in there and organize it, and I am so happy with the final results! I am very proud of all the upgrades I made and wanted to share all the organizers I used because I know that these could be used in any closet scenario.
The Organizers
This is my full list of organizers I used for our closet:
- Clothes Hanger Connector Hooks
- Adjustable Drawer Dividers
- Belt Displays
- 3 Section Drawer Organizer
- Sunglass Organizer
- Velvet Jewelry Trays
- Baseball Caps Display
- Boot Shaper Form Inserts
- Shoe Slots Organizers
Y’all already know that I love wearing a cute set! These hooks help me save space and keep all my sets together without having to try to stuff both clothing items onto one hanger or losing a piece of my set. After discovering clothes hanger connector hooks, I can never go back!
I can take any drawer and add these adjustable drawer dividers to triple the amount of space I am working with! Before I used these, I would stack my folded clothes on top of each other, but now I can fit more items into my drawers and easily display everything within them. I no longer have to rummage through to find what I am looking for and make a huge mess!
Within this one drawer, I was able to fit my belt displays, a 3 section drawer organizer, and a sunglass organizer. These belt displays are really neat because I wanted to find something that wasn’t hanging. I wanted to actually put my belts away in a drawer. These are very compact and keep them from getting tangled up.
I love accessorizing with my outfits, so I had lots of jewelry just lying around. I found that this 8-pack of jewelry organizers has really helped keep everything from getting tangled or lost.
Rick loves to wear baseball caps! They are a staple in his wardrobe, but he kind of just left them lying around anywhere. I found this $10 2-pack of baseball caps display, and I was able to neatly fit 7 hats on each display. They are perfect for keeping all of his hats tidy and not taking up much room. The real deal here is if he’ll actually put them back where they belong, haha!
When I first moved to Texas, I really thought I’d be wearing cowboy boots all the time! It turns out I rarely wear them, but when I do, I want to be sure they are in excellent shape. I got a pack of 6 pairs of boot shapers for only $15, and they have been a game changer. Not only do they help keep the boots’ shape, but they also help them look better displayed. No longer do I have my tall boots falling over to the side. I love these shape holders!
And of course, the final organizer that I’ve used for many of my closet organizations are shoe slot organizers! I will admit that these specific organizers I used are a bit more pricey because I went with ones with gold accents. Typically, I like to get a pack of 20 for only $34! They are helpful for fitting more shoes in a smaller space. Most times, I can double the number of shoes displayed by using this. Shoe slot organizers may be my favorite closet organization hack!
Organizing a closet can be a big home project, but that doesn’t mean it needs to break the bank. When I am adding an organizer, I truly want its purpose to be to help maximize efficiency or space, not just to look pretty. I am so happy that I finally crossed this home project off my to-do list, and I am loving the end results. Let me know if you have any hacks for maximizing space in your closets in the comments. I’d love to hear them!
