It was finally time for me to tackle this home project! I had been putting it off for way too long, and honestly, it was starting to drive me a little insane. Every time I opened a cabinet or pulled a drawer open, things would fall out, or a lid would be missing. I’d look at the mess, knowing I needed to address it, but as soon as I shut the drawer, it was out of sight, out of mind, right? 😅

Thank goodness for my teen! He’s super helpful and puts away the dishes every night. I’m really thankful he’s responsible about his chores, but I’ll admit, sometimes he puts things in the most random spots. 😂 I know that setting up an organization system will not only help me but also make it easier for him when he’s putting the dishes away.

My Spices

My spice drawer was actually one of the first drawers I organized when we moved into the house. I love to spice up our food, so having this drawer in order was a must from the get-go. I’ve rearranged it so the spices face me now, but besides that, the organization system has pretty much stayed the same. It has worked well for me, and everything has held up great!

Knives and Cooking Utensils

When we were remodeling the house, I knew I wanted a kitchen with as much storage space as possible. I didn’t want a lot of appliances or items cluttering my countertops, so we planned for more drawers and cabinets. I love having this utensils drawer right next to my stove, It makes it super easy to grab what I need while cooking!

Pots and Pans

I’ll be honest, I didn’t do much measuring at the beginning of this project and quickly learned that was a rookie mistake. I saw these pegboard organizers and thought they would be perfect for my pots and pans. Unfortunately, the first set I bought didn’t fit. So, I grabbed the measuring tape and got the right ones! They fit like a dream, and I’m loving how everything is organized.

Plates and Bowls

As a family of seven, you can only imagine the amount of dishware we have! I needed something I could customize to my needs. It turned out that the first pegboard organizers I got for my pots and pans worked perfectly for this drawer! I was so happy it did because that meant no Amazon return trip.

Kid’s Dishware

Target is my go-to spot for kid’s dishware! They have the cutest colors and are amazing quality. Plus, they usually come in packs of six for just $3! They stack perfectly on top of each other, making it super simple to keep them all together.

Paper Goods

I like to have a few paper plates and bowls on hand just in case we have an unexpected gathering or want to make dinner cleanup easier! I found these wooden organizers that keep everything in one place, so they don’t get bent or end up all over the place.

Cups

I knew this organizer would be perfect for all the cups we have. With five kids constantly asking for juice or milk, I need a ton of cups ready to go!

Water Bottles

This is a cabinet I previously organized, but it just needed a little TLC to straighten things out! With four out of five kids in sports and all of them in school, multiple water bottles are used daily. The kids are pretty good at keeping up with their bottles and not forgetting them everywhere, but one thing that seems to always go missing are the straws! I got this straw organizer that I adhered to the side, so we finally have a designated spot for them all. So far, it’s working like a charm and takes up no space!

Silverware

This drawer has a custom built-in organizer, and I’m so glad we planed for that! I always found myself buying the same style of silverware organizer and really wanted a drawer with a permanent solution. Unfortunately, this turned into the “restaurant sauce drawer,” so I’m relieved to finally get it back in order!

School Lunches Drawer

This is my holy grail of drawers! It has everything I need to make our school mornings run smoothly: lunchboxes, Bentgo lunchboxes, sandwich cutters, encouragement notes, toothpicks, and more. This drawer really does have it all! With all five of my kids going to school this year, I knew I needed a central spot for all their lunch essentials. I’ll definitely be using this for every school year going forward!

Tupperware and Storage Containers

I saved the best for last! This was the drawer I was dreading the most. I swear tupperware is like socks; one of them is always missing! I had about six different lids with no bottoms. Where do they all go? I love a good purge, so I got rid of what didn’t work and kept everything that was fully paired. I was so happy to finally have an organized drawer!

This might have taken me a few hours to complete, but I feel so much better now that it’s all done! Not only does everything have a designated spot, but it also makes daily tasks so much smoother and more enjoyable. I wish I could keep them looking this perfect forever.
