Baby in bloom was a success! Our baby shower for baby girl was exactly what I had imagined. We decided to have a theme focused on florals and tons of color. I wanted a shower that didn’t scream baby shower but still celebrated our baby girl.

We used party planner Collective Creative to bring everything to life.

Location & Decor

We decided to have the event at our home; we felt it would feel the most intimate being a backyard party. As mentioned, the focus of the decor was flowers, but we still incorporated backdrops, balloons, and acrylic signage.

Backdrops

We had two backdrops for fun pictures and decoration! One was the colorful staggered wooden boxes with the theme of the shower represented by a floral box and the words “Baby In Bloom”. The other back drop was three white wooden lattice frames with florals all intertwined through them.

Flowers

We had so many beautiful florals that tied the whole party together!

Food

Our shower was from 11am-1pm, so we decided to go traditional brunch menu as a plated service. We started the event with hand-passed appetizers.

Desserts

For dessert we had a delicious strawberry cake with plain white frosting along with cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, and cake sickles!

Drinks

At the shower we had two signature drinks! There was a Spiked Strawberry Lemonade and a Blood Orange Margarita. I included the recipes above so you can make them at home yourself!

Games

The games we played at the shower were so fun! We played “Who Said It”, a relay race, and had diapers laid out at the entrance for guests to write encouraging messages on for when Rick and I are changing baby girls diapers in the middle of the night!

Outfits

I loved how our outfits came together. Of course, I wanted a lot of colors since our theme was being in bloom. So I had my aunt, mom, cousin, and sisters rocking Lily Pultizer dresses; I loved these dresses because they were eyelet but not the typical Lily Pulitzer print.

We wanted him to be in bright colors but not too busy for my husband. So I put him in J.Crew orange top, and he picked out his Nike sneakers. The hat he got from a local boutique.

My dress I wanted to incorporate the print and found the perfect dress. It was a splurge, but with being the guest of honor and how well it fits the theme, I loved it. Shoes were from Sophia Webster.
