I’m not gonna lie this is really the time that I dread.  It usually is a full weekend project that normally seems never ending.  Yet it is a must for this household, and I am always glad I did it after it is finished.

If you’ve never done spring cleaning, or not sure if you are doing it right.  No problem, we’ve got you covered! Part of being successful with cleaning is you have to make a plan and strategize.

Here are 50 Ideas for Ways to Deep Clean your Home!

This list may seem daunting or overwhelming, but don’t let it.  Take it one space at a time, and no one said you need to be superwoman.  If you can’t get it done in one day, space it out!

  1. Wash walls
  2. Dust Fans
  3. Replace smoke detector batteries
  4. Vents (also check in and see if it is time for duct cleaning)
  5. Clean grout (if applicable)
  6. Scrub floors
  7. Change bedding
  8. Deep clean floors
  9. Put way winter clothes and bring out spring wear
  10. Clean out and donate books no longer used
  11. Clear out aged out toys donate or trash
  12. Sharpen knives
  13. Purge pantry
  14. Wipe down cabinet and pantry shelves
  15. Dust lamp shades
  16. Clean light fixtures
  17. Change out filters
  18. Throw out old food and clean out refrigerator
  19. Wash windows and doors
  20. Carpet cleaned
  21. Delete no longer files from computer
  22. Store winter coats
  23. Toss old papers and bills that aren’t needed

  2. That is a very extensive list and will be helpful to have on hand and check off as complete! Change out filters is listed two time (17 and 43) are these different or just a duplicate?

  3. This is a wonderful list. Thank you for sharing yours. I always feel like I’m forgetting something nowadays when it comes to cleaning. It helps to have this available and take things slow just like you said. I might try doing 1-2 of these things a day outside of work. I’m going to print and hang this up on my family’s bulletin board. I know they will appreciate it! Thanks again!
