I am a full-time working mom plus mompreneur! It can be very difficult being a HR professional by day, influencer by night, and a mom 24/7. I’ve always been pretty ambitious, my husband often calls me the mastermind for our family. When I have a goal or a vision I almost always push to achieve. While that is a great thing, it can often result to me working quite a bit to manage both jobs.
Professionally I’ve continually made level ups HR world and now work over Compensation and benefits. When I started blogging a couple years back it simply was just a fun outlet for me to have something for me. It also was fun bonding experience for my hubby and I. As my blog has grown (thankfully) it now also requires more of my time also. Then if I wasn’t quite a crazy woman enough I decided to also do HR consulting on the side. I always remind myself that God has equipped me to be prepared for this journey for a reason!
I am sure you think I am crazy…. But I promise I am not haha! I just have passions I feel led to pursue. Even with the balancing life I don’t let it compromise that our house is led by God, then family and everything else after that is secondary.
It’s not perfect and it does take quite a bit of time management to keep it all together.
I can’t stress enough that it is so important to set realistic goals for yourself, and then apply action. Years ago I used to have a lot of woulda, coulda, shouldas. I was dreaming of the life I wanted to have and what I wanted to be doing. Finally I had to say to myself you why are you not going after the things you want for yourself and family in life?! From there I started being diligent on setting regular goals.
SETTING GOALS: MY CURRENT GOALS
Professionally – Close out 2017 year end responsibilities and reporting, level up within by Q2 2019.
Blog – To double my email subscription list, Land a year long brand deal, and grow my engaged community. The biggest one is to grow my Pinterest platform.
Parenting – Successfully plan Cyrus’s 1st birthday, help Calvin meet his speech milestones, get both boys signed up for winter activities, consistently maintain our weekly family bible study (this is a big one for me).
Wellness – Lose 10 lbs by end of year, consistently work out 3 times a week.
These are just a few a my goals I wanted to share with you all, so you can help hold me accountable as well.
* Quick Tip: If you are wanting to level up professionally or achieve your goals in the work place I encourage you to make sure your professional wardrobe matches the role you want to have! Having a nice work wardrobe doesn’t mean that you have to break the budget. I was able to get a ton of items from Ann Taylor Factory that was very affordable. All of my exact piece are linked below.
Now you can set goals for yourself all day long on a piece of paper. This also requires action. I set weekly, monthly, and yearly goals. And then my husband, myself, and my accountability partners hold me to these goals. I set goals in every aspect of my life, marriage, professionally, with my business, how to be a better parent.
My challenge for you is to set 2 goals for yourself for the upcoming week and month. Write them down, and then make a list of what resources or action is needed in order to accomplish the goal. Then every day check in on your goal and ask yourself what have you done each day to get you one step closer to accomplishing the goal.
Share with me your goals below! Let’s make sure we are pushing each other to keep building!
