Guest Bedroom Decor Ideas

We love hosting and entertaining our loved ones whenever you get the opportunity. Especially originally being from Michigan we often have friends and family visiting. I felt previously that our guest bedroom was ok, but it was drab and didn’t give a cozy feeling that I want our guests to have. I knew it was time to brighten up the space and come up with some new guest bedroom decor ideas.

I know many may not think home decor and furniture when it comes to The Home Depot, but I partnered with them and was able to get everything for this space from The Home Depot. What I love most about it is you can order everything online and it will be delivered to your doorstep.

If you feel that your guest bedroom needs a makeover too I want to share what the 3 aspects I changed that completely turned this space around. 1. Furniture

I wanted quality pieces that would last for many years. I went with a lighter color bed, nightstands, and dresser in order to keep the space bright and warm. I was able to get the entire set from The Home Depot. It did have a matching bed, but I opted to go with the upholstered bed. To be honest sometimes I always brace myself when I order furniture online, just because you never know how the quality will be. Each piece that we received was so sturdy and even would have been great in our master bedroom.

2.Bedding & Linens

I wanted neutral and soft colors. While I love colors I wanted to keep it neutral as your guest aesthetic will vary, and wanted to keep it universal along with feel cozy. Home Decorators Collection and StyleWell are both exclusive brands to The Home Depot, so it made me feel like I was getting a look that was very original and classic. I didn’t want a print that was too busy, and so the floral print and fell in love. It didn’t disappoint when it arrived it is so soft, exactly what I wanted for our guests.

3. Lighting & Decor

I capped the bed with 2 table lamps that also bring in a decor aspect. I also want to bring in another statement piece and change out the ceiling light once we move to our new home.

I definitely wanted a rug that was neutral and allowed the duvet cover to be the star. When our guests come to visit it was important they feel everything is comfortable included the rug. That is why I chose to a shag rug to give a plush feel. I kept all my décor subtle as every guest has different style preferences so kept it minimal. The Home Depot is so much more than your typical lumber! Definitely worth considering for your next room makeover.
