Cecelia’s First Bee Day

Happy Bee-Day to our little honey; her BEE theme party was BEE-AUTIFUL! It was a dream come true to finally get my baby girl, and I wanted a day that we could love and celebrate her! I was thinking about the best theme that would fit Cece’s personality. She is all things silly, joyful and fun, and we wanted a theme that fit that! We looked at multiple themes and thought the bee theme would be the most fun!

To be honest, We were unsure if we were going to do a party in this limbo with our home remodel still underway and us still not in our home. Ultimately, I felt that I would regret not having a party for her. We decided to keep it smaller and more simple with just family. I am so happy with how everything turned out. My #1 priority was her having the best day ever, and I truly feel like we accomplished that. The queen bee had the biggest smile on her face all day!

Food and Drink

We didn’t have a bartender, with it being a smaller affair. However, we chose to have a local bartender make an on-theme drink recipe that we served in this drink dispensers that we got from Amazon. Along with that we had bear cups and wooden honey dipper sticks to add an extra level of spice to our drinks. Honey Peach Lemonade, and this drink was yummy, but I would recommend adding a splash of water as it is a bit sweet. I bought our dispenser from Amazon, and it was right on the theme.

Her party started at 11:30, so we did a charcuterie spread but with a brunch twist. There were chicken n’ waffles and a variety of brunch-approved items. It was filling and visually made a great addition to the decor.

The cake and cookies were beautifully made and super tasty. I love that they were so on-themed, but they didn’t feel overdone.

Decor

I loved how we went all in with the bee theme but still kept it fun and classy. My favorite part about the party was definitely the balloon display. Our balloon vendor did an amazing job incorporating all the colors and bringing the fun. We added honeycomb shelving and bumblebee frames that we put then vs. now pictures of Cece in.

We chose to have a few small tables brought in, which were perfect for the kids. Plus, we used a paper company with some on-themed items that were perfect for decorating the kid’s table. This was definitely a fun way to incorporate the theme without breaking the bank.

I love how we had flowers throughout the house, I really felt like it elevated the space. Our florist (Taylor @somethingprettyfloral) is always so intentional with her designs, especially adding in sunflowers because those are the flowers bees are most attracted to.

Activities

We decided to have a bounce house, a water slide, and then a ball pit. It was the perfect amount of items for our smaller group. All these items stayed on theme with balloons and vinyl decals. Our ball pit even had balls that matched the theme.

Special Moments from the Day

Cecelia was smiling so much the entire day! You could tell she was just into it the whole day, from beginning to end. I loved how happy she was! By far, the favorite gift she got was her new handbag; she carried it everywhere with her. I told Rick he better brace himself because Cece is going to cost him a lot of money. HAHA.
