I am already thinking Fall with my wardrobe, but I know this Texas heat won’t allow me to switch over to sweaters and boots. Yes, I know Fall doesn’t start until 9/22, but I am counting down the days. Fall is my favorite time of year. From the cooler weather, football, kids back in school, the wardrobe. There are just so many things that I love about Fall.
Oh and I can’t forget that Bath & Body works has already dropped their Fall scents which I have already gotten my first round of supplies! If you are like me and ready to throw out the shorts and tank tops too, but the heat just won’t allow you to. There are some transition items you can start doing now!
Here are a few ways to start transitioning to Fall without pulling out the long sleeves and boots.
Add some Fall Hues: Some of the easiest way to start getting in the Fall mindset is to add some fall colors to your wardrobe. Some of my favorite colors are Burgundy, Grape, Mustard, and Olive. Of course I also start adding in more black looks.
Grab some booties: While i know that in most parts of the country you can’t pull out boots quite yet. You do still have some options for booties that are appropriate for this transitional season. Consider open toe booties or ones that have multiple cut outs. This is a perfect hybrid for a boot and sandal and can be worn now but also in the Fall.
Layer: Soon the weather will start being many different climates in the course of 1 day. Grab layering pieces to help you be ready for whatever the transitional weather brings. I’m wearing this perfect Summer to Fall Transition dress that I can wear as is, or throw on a jean jacket or cardigan when it starts to get cooler.
Lastly, I know you will soon start adding Fall pieces to your wardrobe. Pause before you do that, take a Saturday to go through your closet and assess what Fall/Winter clothes you have before you add new items. So often when the season is changing I will buy duplicates because I have not properly assessed my existing clothes. Start pushing your summer wear to the back and take inventory of your Fall wear!
