How To Create A Glam Christmas Tree

One of my favorite activities during the holiday season is to decorate the Christmas tree.  I look forward to it every year, and each year I am always thinking of new ways to decorate it.  Most of my home has gold accents so this year I decided to create a gold and white glam Christmas tree – all things Glam.  I was able to accomplish this with the help of my friends At Home.  All of the items on our Christmas tree are from At Home, which made it so easy to get all our tree decor in 1 location.

I know many of you will be decorating your tree the day after Thanksgiving so I had to make sure I share, hoping to help give you a glam Christmas tree idea to try!

Here are few things to make sure you remember to add to your shopping cart next time you are At Home:

Lights – We got an artificial tree which saved us a step and came pre-lit

Ribbon – Get creative an mix colors and prints

Sprigs and/or Branches – This is actually one of my favorite items to add to a tree. Adds dimension. I also use these to create our tree topper.

Non-Traditional Items – Yes ornaments go on a tree, but get creative and add different items.  We added a Fa La La sign, little houses, snow balls.  Get creative!

Ornaments – Don’t be afraid to go BIG with some of your ornaments. Get a combo of ball ornaments and different shaped ornaments.  Gives more character. We also always get shatter proof because glass does not stand a chance in our home.

These are the key items that I included to create our glam Christmas tree.  Also, this is our first year getting a flocked tree, and I must say I LOVE IT! It makes the decorations pop even more!

Last year I made the mistake and went shopping for our tree the 2nd week of December.  Don’t make that mistake.  Everything was so picked over.  If you can try to get out there early to grab your tree decor.  Even if you don’t plan on putting your tree up quite yet.
