I love maxi dresses! They are definitely a spring and summer staple.  I used to have a love/hate relationship with maxi dresses, I actually never used wear them.  I’m only 5’3″ and whenever I would purchase one, it was either too long or made me look like a little girl. I gave up after that and after that point I went somewhat on a strike from them.
Lately, I have been giving them a second chance and I am happy I did.  If you are short like me, my best advice is to buy your maxi’s in the store. Unless, you are good at using the dimensions provided to measure yourself, which I am not.  I love online shopping, but for maxi’s I have to try them on. If I am purchasing a maxi dress to pair it with flats I go with petite sizing to prevent the dress from dragging. So keep that as an option. If you are taller, you still may want to consider trying them on.  Nothing is worse than wanting a maxi dress, and ending up with a midi or flooding dress.
Moving on…Maxi’s are so versatile, you can wear them to run errands or date night.  Pick one with a great print and you have the perfect summer staple! I loved this maxi dress, I felt so tropical and bold. Not all your maxi’s need to be a bold print. If you are like me and sometimes want to be cute, but not put a lot of effort in, consider trying maxi dress.  Being a busy mom I often resort to a tank and shorts in the summer, but that gets boring.  Maxi dresses are just as comfy, but adds some glam to your every day life.  Pair them with cute wedges or some gladiator sandals!
Happy styling!
